Liberia reported to issue new banknote family "shortly"
01 08, 2016 14:39 Category: Africa
According to a press release dated 27 July 2016, the Central Bank of Liberia will "shortly" introduce a new series of banknotes which retains the portraits of the current series (B306 - B310), while enhancing the security, changing the substrate (most likely coated stock or hybrid) to reduce porosity and increase longevity, and adding a new 500-dollar denomination. The specimen designs released so far show the notes are dated 2016 and bear the signatures of the Minister of Finance and Development Planning and the bank's Executive Governor (Boima S. Kamara and Milton A. Weeks, respectively).

The Challenge: Identify objects in Liberia bank seal
Today’s challenge is to identify the crossed objects which appear in the seal of the Central Bank of Liberia (and previously the National Bank of Liberia).
If you can precisely identify the name of these objects—or have a lead which you think might be useful—please post a comment, preferably including a URL which links to evidence supporting your identification.
