According to a press release, the Banco de la República introduced this new 5,000-peso note into circulation on 9 November 2016.

Back: Mammel walking on four legs with Andrean condor flying above mountainous landscape of Páramos de Colombia Puentes de Agua with frailejón plants; Abejorro (bumblebee); José Asunción Silva’s poem “Melancolía;” Liberty head bank seal.
