Ghana new cedi notes (B155 - B159) confirmed introduced 06.05.2019

According to a press release dated 8 April 2019, the Bank of Ghana planned to introduce “upgraded” banknotes with improved security features, durability, and machine readability on 6 May 2019. All denominations feature Crane’s RAPID windowed security thread; a more prominent watermark of Tetteh Quarshie, cocoa pod, and electrotype denomination; and an enhanced golden iridescent stripe of gold bars on back. The 10-, 20-, and 50-cedi notes also have a SPARK Live feature at lower left front.
